instagram lovin'

I am really in love with my iPhone and my instagram! It's so fun and so easy... remember the days of analog? I do really miss holding the actual photo in my hands, so I looked into some cool ways to get my instagram photos printed. I stumbled on the site stickygram and immediately fell in love with the mini magnets!!! You must check it out. I also found the site printstagram and fell head over heels for the mini book! love.. love.. love! I'm having a mini photo cuteness overload! Happy Friday! xxx

my colorful stroll.

I decided to test out my new TOMS (another great Christmas gift) by taking a stroll through the Hollywood Hills. I'm used to seeing snow this time of year, so it was a little confusing to see all of the colorful leaves and sky high palm trees. Is it winter or fall I asked myself?! Well, whatever season it is in Los Angeles, it sure is beautiful! xxx

rainy L.A.

After a meeting at The Bourgeois Pig (super cool coffee shop in Franklin Village) I sat outside to enjoy the rainy weather while sipping on an Americana! Living in Los Angeles you get really spoiled by the sunshine, so one day of rain seems to shut the entire city down! My parking garage completely flooded and I had to run barefoot with dirty water up to my knees!!! But the perks are I get to wear my rain boots, leather jacket, and lay all snuggled up on the couch with my love muffins while internet wish list shopping! (talk about a run on sentence) Can't wait to share my new finds xxx

yesterdays make-up

I woke up this morning in yesterdays make-up, I must say if it wasn't for the fact that my eyes have been burning all day from my mascara, I would sleep in it more often! It's nice when you can race out of the door to work and spend zero minutes painting your face! [at 5am that is a HUGE deal] I'm an editor by day and 6am is my call time... the joys of time zones and magazine deadlines! But, now I know why Prince sleeps in his make-up... there is something glamorous about waking up, done up. Other than that this gal has spent this rainy Los Angeles day getting cozy on the couch with my love muffins and working on my blog! Can't wait for tomorrow, fun photoshoot planned... now I think I should go wash my face before my next blog is about why you should not sleep in your makeup... my poor pores. xxx

My addictions pictured : Starbucks Coffee, Teal-Blue Leopard Scarf and Ray Bans!

Say hello to some serious lomography lovin'! Last night we went to the Lomography Gallery Store Red Carpet Event. They unveiled their new exciting mystery product...and this is what it was : A LomoKino Movie Maker! I watched several short films shot on this and I have to say that it's pretty damn cool. xxx

{by the way I was wearing my lucky yellow suede jacket so I knew it was going to be a great night!}

vanity [fair]

I bought this book: Vanity Fair Portraits last year for around $80 and I just found it on Amazon for $40. You cannot go wrong with icons like Kate Moss and a naked Cindy Crawford! Great buy, great [photo] book, and your coffee table will thank you! xxx

my inspiration, my fashion icon : my [ama]

My Grandmother [Josephine Susini] has been the biggest fashion influence in my life. I remember playing dress up in her clothes as a child, and now as an adult, I still do! My sisters and cousins aren't too happy that she gave me all of her amazing dresses... but I think they should understand why. They have been the core foundation of my fashion existence. I love and respect them not just as clothing, but as pieces of art, pieces of history... and the love of my ama. They hang in a special corner of my closet, and sometimes on the wall as art... they inspire me, bring me joy and add a piece of history to my collection. One day I hope to pass them down to my daughter, or granddaughter... and tell the tale of the woman who molded me in so many ways...

She is pictured above [quite the risqué woman for her time - model and worked for Frank Sinatra, not to brag or anything] and beside her is my tribute photo to her. Once I dig up some more old photos I will post them just so you can see how breathtaking she was, and will always be.

Who inspires you? xxx

floating on a [love] cloud

Here is a pic from the shoot we did for fun in my bedroom... and yes that is a giant black chalkboard square above my bed! I think it's romantic to leave each other notes or write cheesy love quotes on it! Are we "Floating on a Love Cloud"? is what Thor likes to say to me after we have an argument  (with a squinty eye and half smile) ... works like a charm!xxx

chalk and [vintage] dresses

Today I went for a stroll around the Silverlake reservoir and found it to be extremely inspiring! Maybe it was the spanish lake front home that I have my eye on, or just the fall air setting in! Whatever it was I got the itch. ( All you creative people out there know exactly what that is...!) So as soon as I got home I had to throw on my baby blue vintage dress and play... after 10 minutes of trying to play model and photographer my fiance decided to feel sorry for me and grab hold of the lens. I would have never guessed a little play time would turn into a full on photo shoot. Out came the nikon and the lights and a fish eye later came some really cool frames! As soon as I edit a few I will post them! Happy Labor Day Weekend everyone!!!! Check back soon!

me, myself, & photoshop : before & after

Photography by Torgeir Ensrud : Retouching by yours truly.

It is really amazing what a little light change on a photo can do. I really enjoy taking good photographs and making them great! Ladies do not let the magazines fool you, it's all smoke and mirrors... and for the right price I can make you prettier than Cindy Crawford! xxx
